Framework for non-perturbative analysis of a Z(3)-symmetric effective theory of finite temperature QCD
We study a three dimensional Z(3)-symmetric effective theory of high temperature QCD. The exact lattice-continuum relations, needed in order to perform lattice simulations with physical parameters, are computed to order O(a0) in lattice perturbation theory. Lattice simulations are performed to determine the phase structure of a subset of the parameter space. [email protected]

We review the construction and basic properties of a three-dimensional effective field theory for high-temperature SU(3) Yang-Mills theory, which respects its center symmetry and was introduced in Ref. [1]. We explain why the phase diagram of the new theory is expected to closely resemble the one of the full theory and argue that this implies that it is applicable down to considerably lower tem...

Dimensional reduction is a powerful technique to study the high-temperature behaviour of gauge theories. The efficiency of this method was tested in a detailed investigation of the reduction to 2D of (2+1)D QCD [1],[2], showing that it is valid down to temperatures T as low as 1.5 times T c , the critical temperature for deconfinement in (2+1)D. As it is standard, the reduced model was derived ...

We study the phase diagram of the 3-dimensional SU(2) + adjoint Higgs theory, and investigate to what extent it can be used as an effective theory of the 4-dimensional high-T SU(2) QCD. The relation between the parameters in 4 and 3 dimensions is obtained through dimensional reduction. The high-T (deconfined) QCD phase corresponds to the symmetric phase of the 3-D Higgs theory. In the relevant ...
